I recently had a good friend say to me, “I completely understand what a sexual health advocate is. But how do you define a pleasure activist??”
This was my reply:
What is a Pleasure Activist? Good question!
Sex is pleasurable for some people and not so for others.
As a Pleasure Activist, I support and promote looking for and finding your own pleasure. Instead of shying away from non-pleasure, I support leaning into the pursuit of your own pleasure.
Our bodies are designed to give us pleasure in order to make more of us - biology is incredible - really one of the most pleasurable things many of us can enjoy with our bodies is sexual pleasure. Our own pleasure can be profound and life-affirming, whether we give pleasure to ourselves with another person (or people) or solo. Sharing pleasure with other humans, giving and receiving, can provide the highest of all highs, provincial. The little death is real: touching the universe can occur at the height of orgasm for everyone involved - solo or otherwise.
Pleasure can be scary. Giving and receiving is the name of the game, but how do you play?
You start with communication.
I facilitate workshops that focus on communication towards the pursuit of pleasure.
The quick answer: a mindfulness practice and a communication structure.
I invite you to explore both 6POSH and R-BDSM-T pages and find out more. And, of course, I invite you to attend one of my workshops!
I am more than just a Pleasure Activist. I am also a dynamic facilitator, sexual health educator, and creator. I am honored to live a life dedicated to exploring human experience and personal transformation. My work with honesty and sexual health education blossomed in 2018.
