…and Sexuality.

…and Sexuality are workshops based on the promotion of sexual wellness through understanding basic sexual health principles that can be self-measured.

Discover a sexual health framework that allows you, the individual, to determine your level of sexual health and mental health regarding sexuality.

Broadening the “standard” definition of sexual health outside of the clinical setting allows for a broader discussion about topics related to sexual health and wellness.

Considering several foundational principles of sexual health and sexuality, …and Sexuality. promotes an easy-to-follow guide to one’s level of sexual health.

Sexual health is not just clinical health. Sexual health is not limited to the clinician.

Sexual health is not only about asking: “When was the last time you were tested?”

Sexual health can include visiting a doctor, and doesn’t require a doctor's visit.

Understanding the importance of positive mental health with positive sexual health is paramount. Communication is the secret ingredient.

A broader definition of sexual health must include aspects of mental health.

  • Consent is one principle of sexual health. You cannot have positive sexual health without consent. Enthusiastic consent is preferred, and consent is a requirement for good sexual health.

  • Non-exploitation is a requirement for positive sexual health. You cannot have positive sexual health if anyone involved is being exploited.

  • Honesty is a requirement for positive sexual health. Honest communication, even about the “hard stuff” or the “embarrassing” stuff, is foundational for positive sexual health. You cannot be sexually healthy without honesty.

  • Shared values are essential for maintaining sexual health. Alignment with partners about what you like and don’t like is critical for being sexually healthy. You cannot have positive sexual health without sharing values with your partner(s).

  • Protection from unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections is a requirement for sexual health. You cannot have positive sexual health without being protected from unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

  • Pleasure is something often forgotten about and or “forbidden” in people’s lives - self-sustained judgement and shame keep many folks far from their pleasure. Pleasure is a requirement for positive sexual health. You cannot have sexual health without pleasure.

These principles uphold a new, broader definition of the term sexual health to support both physical and mental health.
